The exhumed remains of democracy activist Solo Sandeng continue to be kept at the mortuary of the country’s main referral hospital despite persistent calls for dignified burial.

Some concerned individuals and groups have been intensifying their calls on government to release the remains of the late activist to his family for a befitting burial.

The Chairman of Victims’ Centre, Sheriff Kijera, recently told GRTS that the victims’ community wanted the remains of the late Solo Sandeng handed over to his family for a “dignified” burial.

The former UDP youth wing leader was tortured to death in 2016 after leading a protest for electoral reforms.
